Meet the Authors at utopYA is a series of blog posts where we introduce you to all the amazing writers who will be in attendance at the first ever utopYA convention. Some will be on panels, some will be exhibitors, some will be keynote speakers, and all are living the dream.

We asked the authors 5 questions we wanted to know, and hope that you find them informative and entertaining. These authors were hand-picked, so you’ll definitely want to read their amazing books if you haven’t yet. Get ready, because this is only the beginning.

Meet The Author: Quinn Loftis, The Grey Wolves Series

Quinn is a 32 year old wife, mother, nurse, and writer, not necessarily in that order. She lives in beautiful North West Arkansas with her husband, son and Nora their Doberman pinscher. She loves writing, reading, and crocheting. Her favourite holiday is Christmas, favourite book(s) is Pride and Prejudice, The Alpha and Omega Series by Patricia Briggs, and the Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling. She loves to be silly and have fun, loves music and thinks there is no greater sound in the world than that of her little boy’s laughter.

1. What’s your idea of ‘utopia’?

A good book, comfy couch and cold coca cola in a glass bottle

2. Who influenced you to become a fabulous young adult paranormal author?

Patricia Briggs would be a major influence although she writes adult paranormal I love her style of writing. Also Rachel Caine, I love her Morganville Vampire Series and the way she writes as well.

3. Paper or digital media?

Digital most days, every now and then I itch for the good old days and want a paperback just to smell the pages.

4. Do you have an “end of book” ritual (that you’re willing to share…)?

Honestly I’m usually close to tears. There is just so much work and emotion that goes into a book. I have to take several deep breaths and a week off.

5. What do you hope to get out of UtopYA Con 2012?

I just can’t wait to meet the readers and other authors. I hope to learn about things that will help me as an author and make me better not just as a writer but also in the way I interact with fans.
