CMT’s Katie Cook Tapped To Host UtopYA Awards on Saturday, July 7
Creators, Cast and Screenwriter of AUROR’S TALE To Attend
Nashville, TN / June 20, 2012 – As the much-anticipated utopYA Convention draws near, Founder Janet Wallace announces new talent and unique activities. UtopYA, the first convention for female, paranormal/fantasy young adult authors and readers who love them, will take place at the Scarritt-Bennett Center in Nashville, TN on July 6-8, 2012. Joining the lineup of previously announced top-selling authors and expert panelists are CMT host Katie Cook to emcee utopYA Awards; cast and screenwriter for online fan-fiction-inspired episodic show AUROR’S TALE; author of the Discern saga and Tennessee native Samantha Shakespeare; and Melanie Nilles, author of the Starfire Angels series, who will launch book 4 in her series during the Convention.
CMT host Katie Cook, will emcee the utopYA Awards on Saturday, July 7 from 8-10pm following Story Frenzy, a unique, interactive game between the audience and the authors on the stage. The utopYA Awards include nominated authors with works released between May 2011 and May 2012. Some of the celebrated categories are Best Series, Best Break-Out Author, Most Innovative Marketing, Best Character to Casting and Author of the Year. Katie Cook has a fascination with the paranormal and enjoys going to UFO conferences and ghost hunts around the country. “I am thrilled about the utopYA Convention coming to Nashville,” said Cook. “I have had paranormal experiences over the years and it is one of my favorite topics, so when I was asked to host the Award ceremony, I jumped at the chance to be involved and meet some of my favorite authors in the process.”
In addition to an already high caliber lineup, utopYACon will also host Cassandra Johnstone, co-creator and screenwriter for AUROR’S TALE, a fantasy web series in three acts funded by a successful fan-focused Kickstarter campaign. Joining her are director and co-creator Leo Kei Angelos, as well as other cast members who will meet and interact with fans during the 3-day convention. Fans of Harry Potter will love this webseries set in the wizarding world of New York City and following the adventures of elite enforces known as Aurors working after the Second Wizarding War.
